Checking and Vetting Procedures employed

Avon Driver Services have developed and apply sufficient systems and practices to conduct the following checks and tests when selecting drivers:
1.	Check licences to verify the penalty points, the currency of the licence, the correct name and address and the length of time the licence has been held.
2.	Obtain a copy of the driver’s birth certificate or passport.
3.	Establish that the driver is medically fit to drive.
4.	Obtain a criminal conviction disclaimer.
5.	Ensure that drivers have a good geographical knowledge.
6.	Ensure that drivers have a good knowledge and understanding of the requirements of, and their limitations under, the drivers’ hours and Tachograph legislation.
